Harmony  annex is attached to the rear of the main house and provides compact  accommodation for 2 adults or a family unit of 4 who are happy to share the same bathroom and toilet accessed through the bedroom.

It is a perfect quiet getaway for anyone on business or for delegates attending courses in and around York. For holiday makers Harmony house annex is an ideal tranquil countryside base for sightseeing and shopping in York.

Historically the annex housed horses and carts for the main house and still retains many characteristic features such as the narrow winding stairs, horse height tack room mirror ( sorry too high to use!) and traditional beams.

Harmony house annex has a lounge and dining area with double hideaway bed  downstairs and a twin bedded room upstairs with an en-suite shower room. The twin beds can be used separately for children or together as a super king for adults (if you are over 5’ 10” tall please note this room has characteristic sloping ceilings).

We know that a family breakfast can be a stressful time so we combine the independence of a self catering with the luxury of a cooked breakfast in the dining area of the annex.  Help yourself to cereals, fruit and drinks and we will bring you a cooked breakfast and toast, then clear away after you have left.

To make your stay with us more enjoyable we have a list of homemade meals and desserts provided by cordon bleu trained Hilary. All you have to do is put in the oven and then relax with a glass of wine, whilst your young family are in bed.  A full list is at the foot of this page. What to do locally

There are a number of pubs and restaurants locally, within a short drive. Alternatively we can provide ready made dishes for your convenience. The kitchen is equipped with a hob, oven, microwave and fridge, and there is access to washing and ironing facilities if you need them.

Although situated in the heart of the country, Harmony House is only a few minutes drive to a garage, ATM, supermarkets and butcher, ( as well as McArthur Glen Designer Outlet) and York.

York City Centre is within 15 minutes drive, car parks in the city centre are expensive so we recommend you use the park and ride or St Georges field long stay car park. Please note the parking machines takes coins and not notes although you can pay via mobile phone.

There are several country walks that start in the village, and the York -Selby cycleway is nearby. There are also nearby golf courses at Swallow Hall and Fulford and driving ranges at Scalm Park, riding stables at Naburn Grange and fishing ponds at Forest Farm and Glade Farm which are all close by. Stillingfleet Lodge nurseries are 100yds away and it has a superb garden and coffee shop open to the public. Please check for opening times.

Naburn Lock caravan site is nearby to visit your camping friends.

Stillingfleet has easy access to the coast, Castle Howard, Heartbeat Country & the North Yorks Moors or West Yorkshire and Bronte Country, The Pennines, Bradford Museum of Photography, The Armouries at Leeds and Eureka at Halifax.
