A warm welcome awaits you at Harmony House which enjoys a beautiful location overlooking a wild flower meadow called The Green in the rural village of Stillingfleet, 6 miles south of York, North Yorkshire. Paul and Hilary Finney have built up this bed and breakfast over 10 years and endeavour to make your stay comfortable and relaxed. All our rooms are en suite, have fridges, fresh milk and a locally sourced freshly cooked breakfast is included in the room rate. You will also find a guest lounge and free wifi throughout the house
Harmony House is easily accessible from all major trunk roads and motorways and the park and ride is 10 minutes away at MacArthur Glen. We have safe parking and washing drying facilities for guests arriving by cycle or motorbike and there is an hourly bus service throughout the day (except Sundays), which takes 20 minutes to York
Stillingfleet known as Steflingefled in the Doomsday book is a small village which has a Norman Church, a pub ( closed on Tuesdays), plentiful history and award winning Stillingfleet gardens .You will be pleasantly surprised how close Stillingfleet is to the city of York with just a short drive through the countryside to get you to the park and ride or the city centre. Should you prefer to venture further - you will find many ideas on the attractions page.
Harmony House dates back to the 17th Century and played a significant part in the village life beginning as agricultural cottages, then a Sunday school, reading room and post office, and now the whole house has been sympathetically restored and modernised, yet still retains many of its old characteristics with some low ceilings and steps. We like to think it is the perfect antidote to City life
There are several excellent pubs and restaurants in villages within 3 miles of us or we can cook your evening meal if booked in advance (except weekend
The house has no facilities for children. However we have a family annex which can be self-catering with provisions for a cereals and toast breakfast.
"Very relaxed, perfect cooked breakfast and real attention to detail, thank you."
